Helpful Tips

  • Best times to visit: The Summer months (June-August) are the most popular with the weather usually warmer and drier, but Spring and Autumn are often less busy and can boast some of the most beautiful scenery of the year.

  • Don’t forget your passport: If you’re planning on crossing (or going near) the Canadian border, don’t forget your passport—it’s essential even for marine travel.

  • Watch the weather: Keeping an eye on tide charts and local winds is crucial for safe and enjoyable boating!

  • Plan ahead for moorage: Amenities at moorage locations vary widely. Make sure to call ahead at your destination to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay, especially during the busy Summer season.

  • Join a boating event: If you want to gain some boating experience and camaraderie with fellow boaters sign-up for our Cutwater Cruise or Sabre and Back Cove Rendezvous.
